What is a box mod?

It is an electronic e-cigarette device named for its box-like shape. Whereas mechanical mods are unregulated - they contain no electronic components - box mods are powered by a processor.

When pressing the fire button, a message is relayed through the processor, signalling the device to power the atomizer coil which in turn heats the e-juice and creates vapor you can inhale.
